Chicago, alt-punks Textbook are kicking off their 20th year anniversary by releasing a new single, “We Should Have Won”. The track was produced by Mike Hagler (Mekons, Wilco, Neko Case) at Kingsize Sound Labs and features renowned musician Doug Gillard of Guided By Voices, Nada Surf, Cobra Verde (and lots more) on lead guitar.

The band also re-connected with drummer Ian Lee who played on the band’s John Agnello produced album “The Great Salt Creek” and went on start “Affordable Tour Solutions”, a tour bus company that drives the likes of Manchester Orchestra, Bash and Pop, Son Volt, Guided By Voices, and Nada Surf.

Formed from the ashes of punk-pop stalwarts Not Rebecca way back in 1998, Textbook has gone on to release 5 LPs, done 3 tours overseas, and has songs featured on MTVs “The Real World” and E Channel’s “Living Lohan”. Most recently the band released “On The B-Side” a best of collection on Gainesville Florida’s Paper and Plastick Records.
